The Meaning of the Cross

Throughout history, the cross has provided different views and beliefs to Christian around the world. John 3.16 tells us, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” The cross teaches us several important Bible truths.

1. The cross shows us God’s punishment against sin. (Romans 3.21-26; 

2. The cross shows us God’s love for sinners (Romans 5.8)

3. The cross gives us the strength to break the chains of sin (Romans 6.22, 23; 1 Cor 1.17-24)

4.The cross is our only hope of everlasting life. (Philippians 3. 9-11;  John3.14-16)

5. The cross is the only that will stop men and angels from starting another against God’s government. (Revelation 7.13-17; Revelation 22.3)
