LOVING GOD AND LOVING YOUR FELLOWMEN

There are Christians out there who claim to love God and would do anything to show that love action, by faithfully attending church every Sabbath or every Sunday. They faithfully observe and keep the ten commandment, they are faithful in giving Tithes and offerings and assisting in enhancing the good news through their daily action of love and dealing justly with their fellowmen. There are those who profess to love God and God only however, loving others is limited to only those who deserve that love, maybe through relationships, or have different motives. The third group are so focused on monetary values and daily monetary acquisition, they deal harshly with others under their control, thus there are no compassion and empathetical feelings and emotions.

First, second, third and fourth book of John speaks about the love for God as felt and witnessed by John through his relationship with Christ the Messiah. Speaking about John's eyewitness testimony, (page 555 of Acts of the Apostle) state; "As a witness for Christ, John entered into no controversy,  no wearisome contention. He declared what he knew, what he had seen and heard. He had been intimately associated with Christ, had listened to His teaching, had witnessed His mighty miracles. Few could see the beauties of Christ's character as John saw them. His testimony in regard to the Saviour's life and death was clear and forcible".

Read 1 John 4.20, John has come full circle on the topic of love for God and for fellowmen. "If someone  says, "I love God", and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

"Love is the basis of godliness. Whatever the profession no man has pure love to God unless he has unselfish love for his brother. But we can never come into possessions of this spirit by trying to love others. What is needed is the love of Christ in the heart. When self is merged in Christ,  love springs forth spontaneously. The completeness of Christian character is attained when the impulse to help and bless others springs constantly from within - when the sunshine of heaven fills the heart and is revealed in the countenance. It is not possible for the heart in which Christ abides to be destitute of love. If we love God because He first loved us, we shall love all for whom Christ died." Christ Object Lesson page 384 - 385. Be blessed
